Britten Sinfonia at Lunch

Britten Sinfonia’s award-winning lunchtime series returns for a new season in December 2009 and continues to bring some of the finest chamber repertoire to audiences interspersed with contemporary music which has been specially commissioned for the series. This season Birtwistle pupil, Christian Mason; New York based Nico Muhly; German, Ulirch Kreppein; and jazz influenced Gwilym Simcock have been selected to write works for the series. Britten Sinfonia at Lunch was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society's Chamber Music Award 2009. Now in its fifh season, the series tours to Birmingham, Cambridge, London, Norwich and Krakow, in Poland. The Cambridge concerts are recorded by BBC Radio 3 for broadcast in Spring 2010. This season there are four lunchtime tours:
