Gwilym Simcock New Work (world première tour)
Messiaen Louange à l’Éternité de Jésus
Ravel Piano Trio

BBC New Generation artist, Gwilym Simcock sits at the meeting point of classical and jazz music. Hailed as both a gifted pianist and imaginative composer, Gwilym presents a new work in which he will also perform. Forming the perfect partner to Gwilym’s work Ravel’s Piano Trio has a texture of sound unusually rich for a chamber work and is known for the high level of virtuosity required. Messian’s Louange à l’Éternité de Jésus is a movement from his Quartet for the End of Time, composed while Messiaen was held in a prisoner of war camp.

In Conversation – Gwilym Simcock talks about his new work co-commissioned by Britten Sinfonia and Wigmore Hall. London - 12.15pm

The Cambridge concert will be recorded for future broadcast by BBC Radio 3.
