In this annual event for students at Cambridge University, Colin Matthews will bring his unique insights and advice to young composers hoping to follow in his footsteps. Five student pieces will be rehearsed and performed by an ensemble of Britten Sinfonia and Cambridge University musicians. The young composers will receive advice from Colin and the musicians on how to develop their music, and there are opportunities for the audience to ask questions and join in the discussion. Always an absorbing event for the audience and a rare opportunity to see new musical work in the making, the Composers' Workshop is a must for anyone interested in keeping their finger on the pulse of contemporary music.
