Following their acclaimed collaboration at Aldeburgh Festival in 2008 the partnership between Pierre-Laurent Aimard and Britten Sinfonia continues with this performance featuring Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 14. The rest of the programme focuses on the works of Haydn and Elliott Carter. Regarded as a key figure in the new music world and with a peerless reputation as a pianist of formidable technical mastery in repertoire of the past, Pierre-Laurent Aimard will shed light on these two composers and their skill in creating contrapuntal lines of balance and clarity.

“Aimard's performances were astonishing in their ability to see beyond the thickets of notes to the musical shapes, beguiling in their opalescent tone colours and ferocious in their dynamic range. This was constantly remarkable playing.” The Guardian
