Family Music Day 2009

Our Starting Out project

Our Starting Out project

Tim Steiner workshop leader
Frazer Johnston instrument maker
Robert Campion gamelan

Our annual Family Music Day in Cambridge has been hugely popular with audiences over the past few years. The Family Music Day is a fun and informative way for families to learn more about how music is played and composed. Activities during the day include instrument-building, percussion, gamelan, and new for this year, singing workshops.

You don't need to have any prior musical knowledge or experience but if you do own an instrument and want to bring it along, that's great!

"The children were absolutely thrilled at being on stage with the musicians"

"My child loved the instrument making, he is still hugging his instrument"

"a fantastic day out for our family"
