Music of Life - Composers' Workshop 2010
James MacMillan
Featuring musicians from Britten Sinfonia and Music Of Life
Showcasing Music of Life composers' new works
In an exciting new partnership, Britten Sinfonia joins forces with the Music of Life Foundation for a Composers' Workshop in London, led by James MacMillan. Music of Life is a national organisation that specialises in providing high quality musical education and performance opportunities at a professional level for young people with disabilities and special needs. Its collaborations with leading orchestras, choirs and conservatoires enable young disabled musicians to become part of mainstream music-making. In our first collaboration with Music of Life, we will be welcoming some of their most talented young composers and performers to attend a masterclass with James and a group of Britten Sinfonia musicians. As with our workshop at Cambridge University (see companion event), this will provide a fascinating opportunity for audiences to see creative young minds at work, and to watch a score develop in front of their eyes.
