Britten Sinfonia

For Audiences

Aldeburgh Festival 08

Britten Sinfonia aims to make the experience of going to a concert as accessible and enjoyable as we can for all of our audiences. If you have any questions or requests related to concert-going, please do get in touch.

Pre-concert talks

We organise pre-concert talks prior to all of our performances in Cambridge and Norwich, and most of our performances in London. Beginning an hour before the concert itself, these offer an opportunity to find out more about the repertoire being performed later in the evening, and to meet some of the artists involved in the concert.

The featured soloist, composer or member of the orchestra will talk about the concert and answer questions from the audience. You don’t need any specialist musical knowledge or experience to appreciate these informative and often entertaining events, and we hope that they will enhance your enjoyment of the music to come. Most pre-concert talks are recorded and published on the website. To see which talks are currently available to hear again, click here.

Look out for occasional in-depth events exploring composers or pieces of music in more detail. Information on these will be posted on the website and sent to all ticket holders in advance.

Podcasts

SinfoniaCast is Britten Sinfonia’s podcast series, taking you behind the scenes of our biggest projects and introducing you to the people who make these performances so special. To listen to our latest SinfoniaCast, or to browse past editions, click here.

Programme notes

Wherever possible, we make programme notes available online for one week before and after a concert. These notes are free for you to read and print out as you wish. Where programme notes are available, there will be a link on the relevant concert page.

Online Information

We try to keep our audiences as up to date as possible with what's going on, where we're going, and where we've been. Here, you can visit the award winning mini site for our 2007 tour to South America. It won the prestigious Arts & Business International Award in 2008.
